Through the Night
Daniel Beaty's kinetic one-man show tells six intersecting stories about what it means to be a black man in America today. Equal parts poetry and soul, this virtuosic feat of acting portrays a range of eclectic characters – a precocious 10-year-old boy, an overweight bishop, a college student escaping the projects, and more. Each unforgettable voice reveals the hope, courage, and determination we all need to make it through the night. Nominated for the 2011 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show.

As You Like It
Smart, feisty, and funny, the role of Rosalind is one of Shakespeare's greatest inventions. At the palace, Rosalind and Orlando fall for each other at first sight, but their courtship is cut short when she is banished by the Duke. Disguised as a boy, Rosalind flees into the Forest of Arden, only to meet Orlando once again. What ensues for Rosalind and her companions is described as “the triumph of Shakespearian romantic comedy.” Ted Pappas directs.

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom
It's 1927 in a run-down studio in Chicago where Ma Rainey is recording new sides of old favorites. More goes down in the session than music in August Wilson's riveting portrayal of rage, racism, self-hate, and exploitation. Directed by Dr. Vernell A. Lillie.
