Pittsburgh Philarmonic - May 7, 2018

It’s the grand finale of the Pittsburgh Philharmonic season with Edward Leonard conducting Rimsky Korsakoff’s Scheherazade and Pianist Rodrigo Ojeda playing the Beethoven Fourth Piano Concerto with a premiere by  Brian Morales.  Friday and Saturday May 11th and 12th, 7:30pm.  Friday's concert takes place at Quaker Valley Middle School and Saturday's concert takes place in the Butler County Community College Succop Theater. Susan Claus, Librarian at Northland Public Library, explains the family friendly literary connection with Carolyn Carlins, Board Chair and violinist. Graeter’s has ice cream for everyone after the concert.

Cello Fury - May 4, 2018

Cello Fury hosts "Cello Fest" all day Saturday May 5th starting at 9am at Alumni Concert Hall with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony giving recitals and master classes. Included are Principal Cello Anne Martindale Williams, Mikhail Istomin, and the members of the Pittsburgh Cello Quartet. Included in this podcast is the world radio premiere of Ania's Child by Ben Munoz.  

 

 

Resonance Works - Rusalka - May 3, 2018

Resonance Works closes it's 2017-2018 season with a work never performed in Pittsburgh before - Dvorak's "Rusalka."   Artistic Director Maria Sensi Sellner and some cast members stopped by the QED Morning Show with Anna Singer to talk about the production, which takes place at the Charity Randall Theater on May 11th and 13th.
